You can feel it in the air, right? That sense of mental static, of things getting jammed, of communications not flowing. Welcome to Mercury Retrograde season, that time of year with the worst reputation in popular astrology.

In my previous article, we discussed the mechanics of this specific late-2025 transit: its journey from expansive Sagittarius back into deep, truthful Scorpio. We talked about it being a review of our “big vision” for 2026, filtered by the reality of our purpose and resources.

But it’s one thing to understand it intellectually and another to navigate it. As your coach, I’ve seen too many people simply “hold their breath” for three weeks, waiting for the chaos to pass. And that, let me tell you, is a wasted opportunity.

Mercury retrograde is not a punishment. It’s a recalibration pause. It’s the universe giving you “review and edit” time before the big launch. And as with any creative process, the magic is in the editing.

Today, I don’t want you to hide. I want you to work *with* the energy. I propose a series of practical rituals and meditations that are not superstitions, but spiritual coaching tools to navigate these waters with intention and emerge with a clarity you didn’t have before.

The Key to This Retrograde: Honoring Sagittarius and Scorpio

Our rituals must have a clear intention, and the intention of this transit is twofold. We can’t just light a candle and hope for the best. We need to address the two energies Mercury is touching:

  1. The Sagittarius Phase (The “What”): From October 21 to November 18, Mercury is reviewing our big plans, our life philosophy, our beliefs, and our long-term vision.
  2. The Scorpio Phase (The “Why”): Starting November 18, Mercury returns to Scorpio, asking us to review the emotional, financial, and psychological truth *behind* those plans. The purpose, debts, power, the hidden.

Our practices should reflect this journey: from expansion to depth.

Clarity Rituals for the Sagittarius Phase (The Big Vision)

While Mercury transits Sagittarius (even before officially retrograding on November 9), the energy invites us to review our life’s “treasure map.” Here, the keyword is RE-VISION.

Ritual 1: The “Dream Audit” (The Inverted Vision Board)

Instead of creating a new vision board (a very direct-Sagittarius activity), we’re going to do the opposite. Take out your 2026 goals, your business plan, your Pinterest board, or simply the mental list of “what you wanted to achieve.”

The Ritual:

  • Find a quiet space, light a candle (fire is Sagittarius’ element), and put on inspiring music.
  • Take each goal, one by one, and observe it.
  • With a pen, ask yourself and write down: “Is this dream still mine, or is it an echo of what someone else expected of me?”
  • “Do I desire this from expansion (Jupiter, Sagittarius’ ruler) or from ego (Sagittarius’ shadow)?”
  • “What part of this plan feels ‘inflated’ or unrealistic now that I look at it honestly?”

You don’t have to cross anything out yet. The goal is simply to *become aware*. You are editing your script.

Ritual 2: The “RE” Journal

Mercury Retrograde loves words starting with “RE”: review, reevaluate, renegotiate, reconnect, rectify. This ritual turns mental complaining into conscious action.

The Ritual:

  • Each morning or evening, dedicate 10 minutes to your journal.
  • Divide the page into three sections or simply use these headings as a guide:
  • Today I RE-viewed: (e.g., “I reviewed my apartment contract,” “I reviewed an old project idea,” “I reviewed my budget.”)
  • Today I RE-connected with: (e.g., “An old friend wrote to me,” “I reconnected with my need to rest,” “I reconnected with a book I loved.”)
  • Today I RE-evaluated: (e.g., “I reevaluated my work schedule,” “I reevaluated why I want to move,” “I reevaluated my reaction in an argument.”)

This simple act puts you in the driver’s seat. Instead of Mercury “happening to you,” you are using Mercury.

Depth Rituals for the Scorpio Phase (Inner Truth)

From November 18, Mercury enters the deep waters of Scorpio. Here, the work is more internal, more courageous. The keyword is RE-SOLUTION.

Ritual 3: The “Soul Audit” (and Bank Account Audit)

Scorpio rules shared resources, debts, taxes, inheritances, and financial fears. Mercury here wants us to look at what we’ve avoided looking at. Financial panic is common here.

The Ritual:

  • This ritual requires courage. Allot an hour. Make yourself some tea, put on relaxing music.
  • Open your bank statements, your debt statements, your budget (or lack thereof).
  • The ritual is not to “fix everything today.” The ritual is to LOOK.
  • Breathe and just observe the numbers. Without judgment. Like a detective (Scorpio) gathering data. Ask yourself: “Where is energy (money) flowing without my permission? What financial truth have I been avoiding?”
  • Write down one single small action you can take to reclaim your power (e.g., “call the bank to ask about the interest rate,” “cancel that subscription I don’t use”).

This is an act of immense personal power. You are bringing light (Mercury) into the darkness (Scorpio).

Ritual 4: The Cycle Completion (Special Connection with Venus)

Around November 24, Mercury connects with Venus, the planet of relationships and value. This opens a magical window to heal pending conversations.

The Ritual:

  • Think of a pending conversation that is draining your energy (an ex, a family member, a former partner, or even with yourself).
  • Write a letter (which you don’t have to send).
  • Use the Mercury Retrograde structure: “I want to REALLY understand what happened…”, “I take RE-sponsibility for my part…”, “I want to RE-frame this situation so I can let it go.”
  • The goal is not to blame or reopen the wound. The goal is clarification (Mercury) to find peace (Venus).
  • When finished, you can burn the letter (a very Scorpio ritual to transmute energy) or save it to give to the person when Mercury is direct, if you feel it’s appropriate.

Meditations to Calm Mental Static

The biggest challenge of Mercury Retrograde is mental confusion. Meditation is our anchor.

Meditation 1: “Observing the Thought Clouds”

When you feel your mind is a chaos of misunderstandings and circular thoughts:

Sit comfortably for 5 minutes. Close your eyes. Visualize your mind as a bright blue sky. Thoughts (worries, fears, confusions) are simply clouds passing by. Your job is not to stop the clouds or analyze them. Your job is just to *observe them pass*. “Oh, look, the ‘I forgot to send that email’ cloud.” “There goes the ‘what did that person mean’ cloud.” By not getting caught up, the clouds lose power and the blue sky (your clarity) remains.

Meditation 2: “The Inner Editing Room” (My favorite as a Coach)

This is an active visualization to use Mercury’s power.

Visualize yourself in a quiet, professional editing room. In front of you, on a screen, is the “project” that worries you (your 2026 plan, a relationship, your job). You are the Director. Mercury is your chief editor. He may seem picky, but he’s brilliant. He pauses the film and says: “Here. This part of the script is weak.” “This dialogue isn’t honest.” “A key scene is missing here.” Instead of getting frustrated, you say: “Thank you. You’re right.” And together, you start editing. You cut what doesn’t work, polish the dialogue, reorder the scenes. You leave the meditation feeling like you have an action plan, not a problem.

Your Daily Flight Plan: The 3-Minute Anchor

If everything else seems like too much, stick with this. Do it every morning before picking up your phone.

  1. Land: Plant your feet firmly on the ground. Feel the connection. Take 3 deep breaths.
  2. Check-in: Mentally review your agenda for the day. Just observe it. Where are the potential points of friction? (That important meeting, that delicate email).
  3. Intend: Set your intention. (e.g., “Today, my intention is to listen twice as much as I speak,” “Today, my intention is to be flexible and not get frustrated by delays,” “Today, I will double-check my emails before sending”).

This is your daily act of sovereignty. You are choosing how to navigate the day.

Mercury is Not Your Enemy, It’s Your Editor

Mercury retrograde doesn’t come to ruin your life. It comes to make sure the foundations of your life (your thoughts, your plans, your communications) are solid before you try to build the next floor.

These rituals and meditations are your toolkit for the great review of late 2025. They will help you polish your vision (Sagittarius) and reconnect with your deepest power and purpose (Scorpio).

But sometimes, we can’t edit our own script because we are too deep inside the story. Sometimes, you need an external director or editor who sees the full picture.

If you feel this review is overwhelming you, or if you want to use this energy to do a deep clean of your plans and find perfect alignment for 2026, I am here to help you navigate it.

You can book an Astrology Reading with me here and we’ll look at your personal map together.

Or if you prefer, we can have a more direct conversation to see how I can help you. Sometimes, just talking about it changes your perspective.

With Love,
